FAQs and things to know about the property

Most guests enjoy the natural beauty and seclusion of Aspen Ridge. The 45 acres that make up the property and the surrounding areas are remote and densely wooded, so there are a few differences from staying in town. Here are the essentials to keep in mind before arrival.

Firewood

As with many cabin rental companies, Aspen Ridge does not routinely supply firewood or lighters. Guests may bring firewood or stop locally for pre-cut, dry wood for indoor fireplaces and outdoor fire areas. For indoor use, DuraFlame-style logs can help light and maintain a fire. We occasionally have some firewood available on the property; call ahead for current details. Always follow posted burn rules and local weather restrictions.

Cell Phone Coverage

Aspen Ridge is higher in elevation than many surrounding areas, so cell coverage varies by carrier and weather. Service often works best near the entry gate and may drop quickly once you leave the property. There is no landline, and Aspen Ridge does not provide phones for guest use. Download maps, directions, and arrival details before traveling.

Getting here

Feathers Road is a gravel road with several hills that may require 4-wheel drive during winter months. We strongly recommend traveling in a 4-wheel drive vehicle when snow or ice may be present. Keep your speed up to help make it up the hills; driving too slowly can spin tires and create ruts in the gravel. The road is maintained regularly and cleared of snow when needed. Do not rely only on GPS. Some phone GPS systems and older navigation devices may send guests to roads that do not exist in Hocking Hills. Garmin, Google Maps, and Waze are usually mostly accurate, but we recommend downloading the Hocking Hills area map before arrival. Read the written directions included in your arrival emails and review the location map before traveling.

High-speed Wi-Fi

High-speed Wi-Fi is available in all four cabins: The Blue Ash, The Cardinal, The Getaway, and BeechTree Burrow.

Pests / Pollen / Leaves

Each cabin is treated for pests on a regular basis. When visiting Aspen Ridge, remember that you are deep in the woods and insects can still appear. Use bug spray outdoors when in season. Decks are sprayed and swept, but pollen in spring and leaves in fall can return within hours of cleaning.

Privacy

Aspen Ridge is tucked back off a private drive in secluded woods. Your stay should be uninterrupted by traffic, and you can expect the peace and quiet of nature. There are four rentable cabins on 45 private wooded acres, each with its own parking, outdoor space, and hot tub. The first cabin past the gate is used for personal storage and has a small barn next to it. The Blue Ash and The Cardinal are closer to each other along the private road; The Getaway is farther down the road past The Cardinal. BeechTree Burrow also has its own private cabin setting.
